The 2021 Maison Henri Gouges Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc is an unusual white Burgundy made entirely from "Pinot Gouges," the domaine’s historic selection of Pinot Blanc. Grown at approximately 375 metres above the Côte de Nuits, it displays aromas of green apple, pear and white peach, joined by grapefruit, delicate flowers, almond and subtle brioche.
On the palate, it is fresh, direct and finely textured, reflecting the cooler character of the 2021 vintage. Crisp citrus and orchard fruit are balanced by gentle creaminess, lively acidity and a firm mineral backbone. Maturation in older barrels adds depth without masking the fruit, leading to a persistent finish with notes of lemon zest, stone and mild spice.
