The 2016 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wine of Château Lagrange, a Third Growth estate in Saint-Julien. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, it opens with concentrated aromas of black cherry, cassis and violet, complemented by liquorice, cedar, tobacco and gentle spice.
On the palate, it combines ripe red and black fruit with lively acidity and rounded, polished tannins. Fourteen months of maturation in French oak, including approximately 20% new barrels, contributes subtle smoky and savoury complexity. Now showing attractive development, the wine remains vibrant, balanced and classically structured, with a persistent Saint-Julien finish.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a mature Bordeaux from the highly regarded 2016 vintage without the price of the château’s Grand Vin. Ideal with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck, venison, mushroom dishes or aged hard cheese.
