The 2015 Château Langoa Barton is a distinguished Third Growth (3ème Grand Cru Classé) from Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, made from 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. The nose shows red and black fruits with cassis, cedar and tobacco, complemented by subtle sous-bois and spice.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with concentrated fruit, fresh acidity and silky yet structured tannins. Matured for 16–18 months in French oak, including 60% new barrels, it combines red and dark fruit with tobacco, cedar and gentle spice, leading to a long, fresh and focused finish.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Bordeaux drinkers who enjoy mature Cabernet fruit, refined tannins and classic Saint-Julien savoury complexity. The 2015 is drinking well now and can continue developing into the mid-to-late 2030s. Ideal with roast lamb, grilled steak, slow-braised beef, venison or mature hard cheeses.
