The 2015 Bruno Colin Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Truffière Magnum (1500ml) is a rare large-format white Burgundy from one of Puligny-Montrachet’s highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards. La Truffière lies high on the slope above the village, above Les Folatières and below the Hameau de Blagny, a position renowned for producing Chardonnay with impressive mineral definition and tension. The excellent 2015 Burgundy vintage brings additional richness and concentration, with aromas of ripe peach, pear and citrus layered with white flowers and stony mineral notes.
On the palate, it is concentrated and beautifully textured, combining generous stone fruit with citrus freshness and the precise mineral backbone characteristic of La Truffière. There is impressive depth and richness through the mid-palate, balanced by a finely chiselled structure and a long, lemony, mineral-driven finish. Now with more than a decade of bottle age, the wine is entering an exciting stage of development, while the 1500ml magnum format offers slower maturation and makes this an especially compelling bottle for further cellaring or a special occasion.
