2024 Stonier Merricks Chardonnay is a refined cool-climate Chardonnay from the Mornington Peninsula, sourced from vineyards along Thompsons Lane in Merricks, including some of the estate’s oldest Chardonnay plantings dating back to 1978. These elevated coastal sites give the wine a vibrant acid line and strong mineral character, reflecting the maritime influence of the region.
Aromatically expressive, the wine opens with notes of lemon blossom, lavender and citrus, followed by layers of white peach, lemon curd and subtle spice. The palate is textured and elegant, showing citrus and stone-fruit flavours balanced by fine acidity, gentle oak seasoning and a touch of creamy lees complexity that carries through a long, precise finish.
Elegant, mineral-driven and distinctly Mornington Peninsula in style, the Merricks Chardonnay highlights the purity and precision that have made Stonier one of the region’s pioneering producers of Chardonnay.
