Tin Shed Wines is a boutique Barossa Valley winery renowned for producing characterful, small-batch wines that capture the warmth, generosity, and individuality of one of Australia's greatest wine regions. Founded in 1998 by Kym Teusner and his wife Melissa, Tin Shed began as a passion project in a small corrugated iron shed—hence the name—and has grown into one of the Barossa's most respected independent producers. The winery remains family owned and is celebrated for its relaxed philosophy, old-vine fruit, and exceptional value.

Rather than relying on a single estate, Tin Shed partners with long-standing family growers throughout the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley, sourcing fruit from some of the region's finest old-vine vineyards. Many of these vineyards feature vines that are 50 to over 100 years old, planted in ancient sandy loam, clay, and red-brown earth soils. The warm continental climate, combined with careful vineyard management and low yields, produces fruit of remarkable concentration while retaining freshness and balance.

Tin Shed is best known for its iconic The Poor Bastard Shiraz, The Sticks Shiraz, Melting Pot Shiraz, Single Wire Grenache, GSM blends, and Eden Valley Riesling. The Shiraz wines display generous blackberry, plum, liquorice, dark chocolate, and spice, balanced by silky tannins and restrained oak. Grenache offers vibrant red berry fruit, floral aromatics, and savoury complexity, while the Riesling showcases lime, citrus blossom, and crisp mineral acidity. Across the portfolio, the wines consistently combine richness with elegance and outstanding drinkability.

Winemaking follows a hands-on, minimal-intervention approach designed to preserve vineyard character. Fruit is harvested from carefully selected vineyard parcels before undergoing small-batch fermentation with gentle extraction. Premium wines are matured in a combination of French and American oak, with careful barrel selection ensuring oak complements rather than dominates the fruit. Every wine reflects Tin Shed's philosophy of authenticity, balance, and honest regional expression.
