The 2023 Clos Larrouyat Jurançon Sec Comète is a beautifully intense and terroir-driven dry white from one of Jurançon’s most exciting biodynamic estates in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Produced from carefully selected old-vine Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng grown on steep clay and limestone slopes, the wine reflects the region’s unique balance of aromatic richness, mineral tension and mountain freshness. The nose reveals preserved lemon, ripe grapefruit and white peach layered alongside wild herbs, white flowers and subtle smoky mineral notes, giving the wine remarkable complexity and lift.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity, layered texture and a tightly wound mineral core. Layers of citrus peel, orchard fruit and gentle savoury complexity are balanced by saline freshness and fine phenolic grip, finishing long, dry and beautifully persistent with outstanding energy and precision. The cool Pyrenean influence preserves freshness and detail while careful low-intervention winemaking allows the vineyard character to remain at the forefront.
