A vibrant nuevo-style Shiraz from Jo Perry’s Dormilona label, made from organically grown fruit in Osmington. Wild fermented with a portion of whole bunches and bottled unfined and unfiltered, the wine is all about freshness, drinkability and minimal-intervention energy. The nose shows blackberry, red cherry and plum alongside white pepper, dried herbs and subtle earthy spice. There’s a bright crunchy freshness and lightly savoury edge that keeps the wine lively and expressive.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with juicy dark fruit, silky tannins and refreshing acidity. Fresh, slippery and highly drinkable, with a slightly salty savoury finish that makes it perfect lightly chilled.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A seriously fun modern Margaret River Shiraz — bright, gluggable and built for immediate enjoyment rather than heaviness or oak. Somewhere between nouveau-style red and lo-fi Australian Shiraz energy. Best served slightly chilled with pizza, burgers, BBQ or charcuterie. Drink now through 2029+.
