The 2024 F.X. Pichler Loibenberg Grüner Veltliner is a concentrated Wachau white from the steep, sun-exposed terraces of the Loibenberg vineyard. Grown predominantly on gneiss with weathered loess, it shows ripe stone fruit, red apple and pomelo with white florals, alpine herbs, tobacco leaf and subtle peppery spice.
On the palate, it is medium-to-full bodied and structured, with ripe peach and apple fruit balanced by fresh acidity and a firm mineral line. A supple texture is complemented by citrus pith, herbs and savoury spice, while extended maturation in large oak adds depth without masking the fruit. The finish is long, saline and finely textured.
