DOSNON
Dosnon is one of Champagne’s most exciting grower-producers, located in the Côte des Bar, the southernmost subregion of Champagne. Founded by Davy Dosnon, the house has gained international recognition for producing terroir-focused Champagnes that showcase the unique character of the region’s Kimmeridgian limestone soils and predominantly Pinot Noir vineyards.
Unlike the larger Champagne houses, Dosnon focuses on small-production wines sourced from carefully selected vineyard parcels around Avirey-Lingey and neighbouring villages. The Côte des Bar shares geological similarities with nearby Chablis, contributing distinctive mineral freshness and depth to the wines.
Dosnon is particularly renowned for its Pinot Noir-based Champagnes, often complemented by Chardonnay. The wines typically display aromas of citrus, green apple, white peach, red berries, brioche, toasted nuts, and chalky mineral notes. On the palate, they combine precision, texture, freshness, and complexity, reflecting both the vineyard and the vintage.
The house follows a philosophy of minimal intervention and meticulous winemaking. Fermentation and ageing frequently take place in oak barrels, adding texture and complexity while preserving fruit purity and terroir expression. Dosage levels are carefully managed to maintain balance and transparency.
Signature cuvées such as Récolte Blanche, Récolte Noire, Alliae, and Origin'elle have established Dosnon as a benchmark producer within the grower Champagne movement. These wines are highly regarded for their authenticity, elegance, and ability to express the unique identity of the Côte des Bar.
