CHARLES JOQUET
Domaine Charles Joguet is one of the most respected wineries in the Chinon appellation of the Loire Valley, France, renowned for producing refined and terroir-driven wines from Cabernet Franc. Founded in 1957 by Charles Joguet, the estate played a pioneering role in establishing Chinon as a source of serious, age-worthy wines.
Charles Joguet was among the first producers in Chinon to highlight individual vineyard sites, bottling wines from specific terroirs such as Clos du Chêne Vert, Les Varennes du Grand Clos and Clos de la Dioterie. This vineyard-focused philosophy helped redefine the region and demonstrated the complexity that Cabernet Franc can achieve in the Loire Valley.
Today, the estate continues to follow a philosophy centred on sustainable viticulture, careful vineyard selection and minimal intervention winemaking, producing wines that express the purity and elegance of Chinon’s limestone-rich soils.
