2022 Armand Heitz Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Maltroie" is a beautifully balanced Premier Cru Chardonnay from one of the classic sites in Chassagne-Montrachet. The nose is intensely floral and expressive, showing pear, citrus zest and white flowers, layered with subtle hazelnut, light oak and mineral nuances. There is a clear sense of ripeness from the 2022 vintage, but still with a lifted, elegant aromatic profile .
On the palate, it is textured and harmonious, offering flavours of lemon curd, stone fruit and a touch of brioche, supported by fresh acidity and a refined mineral backbone. Compared to the 2021, this vintage shows more richness and mid-palate generosity, while still maintaining tension and precision. The finish is long, polished and slightly nutty, with excellent balance between fruit, oak and terroir expression .
