The 2022 Vietti Barbera d'Alba Scarrone is a powerful single-vineyard Barbera from Castiglione Falletto in Piedmont. It shows a deep ruby-purple colour with intense aromas of ripe red and black cherries, vanilla and sweet spices. The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, balanced by Barbera’s natural vibrant acidity, with layers of dark fruit, mocha and subtle oak leading to a long, complex finish.
Fruit comes from the steep Scarrone vineyard planted on marl and limestone soils, with the wine typically aged around 18 months in a mix of large oak casks and barriques, giving structure and depth while maintaining freshness.
