The 2021 Vietti Barolo Ravera is a structured and finely detailed 100% Nebbiolo from the renowned Ravera vineyard in Novello, Barolo. The nose reveals red berries, cherry and floral notes with hints of white pepper, chalk and mineral character. The vineyard sits around 400 metres above sea level on limestone and clay-rich soils, contributing freshness and definition.
On the palate, it is concentrated and precise, with vibrant acidity, firm fine-grained tannins and layers of ripe red fruit, spice and savoury minerality. Fermentation lasts around three weeks, followed by approximately 32 months in large oak barrels, giving the wine structure without masking its Nebbiolo character.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for collectors who enjoy structured, traditional Barolo with significant ageing potential. Best from 2027 onwards, with the ability to develop for several decades under good cellaring conditions. Ideal with slow-cooked beef, roast lamb, mushroom risotto, truffle dishes or aged cheeses.
