The 2017 Vietti Barolo Riserva is a limited-production 100% Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont, made from a careful selection of cru vineyard parcels. The nose is deep and complex, showing ripe cherry, blackberry and plum with dried flowers, forest floor and subtle balsamic notes.
On the palate, it is rich and structured, with concentrated red and dark fruit, lively acidity and well-integrated Nebbiolo tannins. Fermentation takes place over approximately three weeks, followed by around 30 months in large oak casks, building complexity while retaining freshness and varietal character.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for collectors seeking mature, age-worthy Barolo with depth and structure. Drinking well now but capable of developing for many years under good cellaring conditions. Ideal with slow-cooked beef, roast lamb, mushroom or truffle dishes and aged cheeses.
