The 2024 F.X. Pichler Klostersatz Riesling is a dry Wachau white from the historic Klostersatz vineyard near Loiben. Grown on deep Danube gravel soils, it shows white peach, green apple and apricot with lime zest, delicate florals and subtle mineral notes, combining ripe fruit with the freshness of the 2024 vintage.
On the palate, it is light and precise with lively acidity, fresh orchard fruit and citrus supported by a firm mineral line. Fermentation and maturation in stainless steel followed by around four months on fine lees preserve freshness while adding gentle texture. The finish is dry, elegant and persistent.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Riesling drinkers who enjoy crisp Wachau whites with bright acidity, fresh fruit and mineral character. Enjoy now or cellar through around 2035. Pair with grilled snapper, prawns, pork schnitzel, fresh seafood, roast chicken or firm cheeses.
