The 2018 Allegrini La Poja IGT is a powerful and elegant Veneto red produced entirely from Corvina, sourced from the renowned La Poja hillside vineyard in Valpolicella Classico. The warm and balanced 2018 vintage has delivered a wine with impressive concentration and structure, opening with aromas of black cherry, plum and wild berry layered alongside dried herbs, dark spice, tobacco and subtle earthy notes.
On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refined, with firm but polished tannins, fresh acidity and a long, savoury finish. At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent Italian red for collectors seeking a more structured and site-driven expression of Corvina outside the traditional Amarone style.
