The 2015 Allegrini Fieramonte Amarone Classico Riserva DOCG is a powerful and deeply concentrated red from the historic Valpolicella Classico region in Veneto. Produced from carefully selected Corvina and Rondinella grapes using the traditional appassimento method, the 2015 vintage delivers both richness and structure, shaped by warm growing conditions and extended ageing. The nose is intense and layered, showing aromas of dried black cherry, plum and fig alongside dark chocolate, spice, tobacco and subtle balsamic notes.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, with velvety tannins, balanced acidity and remarkable persistence. Flavours of dried berry fruit, cocoa, espresso and sweet spice unfold gradually, while the wine’s freshness and fine structure prevent it from becoming heavy. Extended oak maturation adds depth and complexity, supporting the wine’s long, savoury finish and considerable ageing potential.
Ben’s Recommendation: At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding Amarone for collectors and lovers of powerful Italian reds seeking both intensity and refinement. Drinking beautifully with decanting now, though it will continue to evolve over the next 10–15 years. An excellent match for slow-braised beef, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, venison or rich mushroom dishes.
