2019 Pio Cesare Barbaresco Il Bricco is a single-vineyard Barbaresco made from Nebbiolo grown in the historic Bricco di Treiso MGA in Barbaresco. Produced only in excellent vintages and in limited quantities, this cru bottling represents one of the flagship wines of Pio Cesare. The high-elevation hillside vineyard and limestone-clay soils give the wine both structure and aromatic finesse. Complex and perfumed, showing aromas of red cherry, raspberry and dried flowers layered with notes of tar, spice, tea leaf and forest floor. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with ripe red fruit, mineral tension and refined yet present tannins. Elegant acidity and earthy complexity lead to a long, structured finish.
