The Cidre Séhédic Brut NV (375ml) is a traditional Breton cider produced by the Séhédic family in La Forêt-Fouesnant, Brittany. Made from more than 30 heirloom cider apple varieties grown in certified organic orchards, the cider is produced from 100% pure juice and naturally fermented to create a fine, gently sparkling style. Aged in barrel before bottle fermentation, it reflects the rich cider-making traditions of Brittany while maintaining remarkable freshness and drinkability.
The nose reveals baked apple, pear and dried apricot alongside notes of caramel, orange zest and subtle orchard earthiness. Lightly sparkling and beautifully balanced, the palate combines fresh apple fruit with gentle bittersweet complexity, soft tannins and a dry, refreshing finish. Despite its modest 5–5.5% alcohol, it offers impressive depth and texture, with hints of honeyed fruit, spice and a touch of rustic Breton character.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A superb artisan cider that offers far more complexity than most commercial examples. Fresh, lightly sparkling and incredibly food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie, soft cheeses, pork dishes, fried seafood, oysters and traditional buckwheat galettes. The 375ml format makes it perfect for sharing as an aperitif or alongside a casual meal. Enjoy well chilled while its vibrant fruit and natural freshness are at their peak.
