The 2025 Ochota Barrels Weird Berries in the Woods is a distinctive Gewürztraminer from a single vineyard in the Adelaide Hills. Fragrant and expressive, it shows fresh lychee, tangelo and Meyer lemon alongside rose petal, lavender, jasmine, ginger and subtle manuka honey, giving the wine plenty of aromatic character without becoming overly rich.
On the palate, it is bone dry and medium-bodied with fine acidity and a generous, chalky texture. The fruit was picked earlier than the previous vintage and pressed directly to seasoned French oak with full solids. Full malolactic fermentation adds softness and depth, while citrus peel, lemongrass and ginger carry through to a long, bright finish.
