A vibrant and highly drinkable Italian-inspired blend from Pat Underwood, combining Nebbiolo and Refosco from organically farmed vineyards in Colbinabbin. Made with multiple harvest passes and a mix of rosé pressings and skin-fermented parcels, the wine balances perfume, freshness and savoury complexity beautifully. The nose shows raspberry, blackberry and blood orange alongside rose petal, violet, lavender and fresh herbs. There’s a lovely amaro-like savoury edge with hints of earth, cacao and spice adding depth.
On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with juicy red fruits, fine tannins and bright acidity carrying through a long, crunchy finish. Fresh, vibrant and energetic, with a slightly wild “lo-fi” feel while remaining beautifully balanced and highly drinkable.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A seriously fun modern Victorian red — fragrant, savoury and perfect slightly chilled. Think somewhere between Nebbiolo, Gamay and natural wine energy. Brilliant with pizza, charcuterie, duck or casual shared food. Drink now through 2031+.
