The 2024 Wildeberg Chenin Blanc is a beautifully textured old-vine Chenin Blanc from Paarl, crafted from dry-grown bush vines planted in 1974 and 1979 on decomposed granite soils. Hand-harvested and naturally fermented in a combination of French oak barrels and foudres, the wine is aged for 10 months on fine lees, building complexity while preserving freshness. The nose is expressive and inviting, revealing quince, white pear and lemon layered with honeysuckle and subtle mineral notes.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and a beautifully textured mouthfeel. Flavours of lemon, pear, quince and apple pith are balanced by a fine mineral backbone, leading to a long, fresh finish with impressive purity and elegance.
