The 2024 TWR Pinot Gris SV 5182 is a beautifully crafted single-vineyard Pinot Gris from Te Whare Ra in Marlborough, produced from the estate’s prized SV5182 block and organically grown fruit. Made from the low-yielding Berry-Smith clone, this wine showcases the concentration, texture and purity that have become hallmarks of TWR’s aromatic wines. The nose is expressive and inviting, revealing aromas of nashi pear, red apple and honeysuckle alongside delicate white florals, quince and subtle spice.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a supple, fleshy texture balanced by vibrant natural acidity. Flavours of pear, apple and stone fruit are layered with hints of citrus peel, almond and savoury lees complexity. A small portion of fermentation in seasoned French oak adds depth and texture, while extended lees contact contributes richness without compromising freshness. The finish is dry, mineral-driven and persistent, with fine phenolic grip and impressive length.
