The 2024 Gentle Folk Shiraz is a cool-climate Adelaide Hills red sourced from vineyards in Charleston and Oakbank, including fruit grown by the Turnbull and Downer families. The nose is aromatic and expressive, showing blueberry, blackberry and plum alongside floral notes, black pepper, cinnamon and savoury spice.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied and energetic with fresh acidity, concentrated dark fruit and structured tannins. The wine was fermented with 50% whole bunches for four weeks before being pressed to French oak puncheons for eight months, with 20% new oak, adding depth and spice while maintaining freshness and fruit definition.
