The 2024 Anne and Jean-François Ganevat Les Chonchons is an elegant old-vine Pinot Noir from the Côtes du Jura. Its biodynamically farmed vines are rooted deeply in grey Lias marl and Triassic marl soils, which contribute freshness and mineral definition. Following a gentle, cool semi-carbonic maceration with indigenous yeasts, the wine matures for one year in seasoned barrels. Aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry, redcurrant and wild strawberry are joined by floral notes, liquorice, subtle mint, sweet spice and woodland nuances.
On the palate, it is supple, precise and beautifully fluid, with vivid red fruit supported by silky tannins and refreshing acidity. A fine savoury character adds depth without diminishing the wine’s lightness and purity. The persistent finish combines delicate spice with a subtle saline mineral impression.
