The 2023 Woodstock Deep Sands Shiraz is a McLaren Vale Shiraz sourced from Woodstock Estate and neighbouring vineyards in Blewitt Springs. The area’s deep sandy soils and relatively cool microclimate encourage slow, even ripening. Aromatically, the wine shows vibrant cherry and plum, with darker berry fruit and gentle spice adding depth.
On the palate, it is rich yet elegant, with fleshy red fruit, earthy notes and white pepper supported by soft, structured tannins. After fermentation on skins, most of the wine matures in stainless steel, with a small portion aged in seasoned oak for up to 12 months, keeping the fruit bright while adding subtle complexity.
