The 2023 Southern Light Vineyards Ghostgum Pinot Noir is a premium cool-climate Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula, crafted from the estate's Ghostgum Vineyard in Main Ridge, one of the region's highest-elevation vineyard sites. The 2023 vintage was hand-picked and fermented using a combination of whole-bunch and destemmed fruit before spending 10 months in French oak hogsheads (20% new). It opens with deep, savoury aromas of aniseed, clove and forest floor, lifted by fragrant notes of pomegranate, raspberry and dark cherry.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with exceptional purity, silky tannins and vibrant natural acidity. Concentrated flavours of dark cherry, blood plum and red berries are layered with subtle spice, earthy complexity and a fine mineral thread, leading to a long, elegant finish.
