The 2023 Seppeltsfield Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz is a traditional Australian blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Shiraz from the Barossa. Cabernet is sourced from two vineyards in the central Barossa, while Shiraz comes from the Gomersal Vineyard on the western ridge. The nose shows cassis and redcurrant with green leaf, dried herbs, dark chocolate and allspice.
On the palate, Cabernet provides savoury, linear tannins and structure, while Shiraz contributes plushness and ripe fruit. Both varieties were fermented through Seppeltsfield’s historic 1888 Gravity Cellar and matured separately in French oak hogsheads, 30% new and 70% seasoned, before final blending.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for those who enjoy classic Australian Cabernet Shiraz with dark fruit, savoury herbs and structured tannins. Drinking well now, with cellaring potential through around 2035. Ideal with Beef Wellington, grilled steak, roast lamb, slow-cooked beef or mature hard cheeses.
