The 2023 Immich-Batterieberg Trabener Zollturm Riesling is an extraordinary dry Riesling from the historic Trabener Zollturm vineyard in the Mosel, acquired by Gernot Kollmann as one of the estate's newest Grand Cru sites. Planted with 80+ year-old vines on steep slopes of grey slate and quartzite, the organically farmed vineyard produces wines of exceptional concentration and mineral precision. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured on full lees in traditional oak casks, the wine opens with intense aromas of ripe white peach, apricot and citrus blossom layered with flint, wet stone and delicate herbal notes. Awarded 98 points by James Suckling and 96 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, it is one of the standout Mosel Rieslings of the vintage.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with crystalline acidity, remarkable concentration and profound mineral tension. Layers of ripe stone fruit and citrus are wrapped in a creamy lees texture, while a finely tannic, saline backbone drives an exceptionally long, focused finish. Powerful yet effortlessly elegant, this is a world-class Mosel Riesling that combines depth, precision and remarkable ageing potential.
