The 2023 Domaine Stéphane Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers comes from one of Chambolle-Musigny’s most highly regarded Premier Cru vineyards, situated just below the Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares on the border with Morey-Saint-Denis. A portion of the vineyard is planted to exceptionally old vines, some dating back to 1902, contributing remarkable depth and complexity to the wine. Stéphane Magnien is renowned for producing elegant, terroir-driven Burgundies that emphasise purity, finesse and vineyard expression.
The nose is beautifully perfumed, revealing wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry alongside notes of violet, rose petal and subtle spice. The palate is silky and refined, combining vibrant red fruit with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Layers of crushed stone, delicate floral notes and gentle savoury complexity unfold through a long, mineral-driven finish. A beautifully expressive Premier Cru Burgundy that captures the grace and perfume for which Chambolle-Musigny is famous. Elegant, complex and effortlessly refined, it pairs wonderfully with duck, quail, veal, mushroom dishes and fine poultry. Enjoy with a gentle decant if drinking young, or cellar through 2040–2045 as it develops greater savoury depth and complexity.
