The 2023 Domaine Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Perrières is a refined 100% Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, combining generous fruit with the stony precision associated with this vineyard. The Carillon family’s winegrowing history stretches back to 1520, and Jacques continues that heritage through wines that emphasise balance, finesse and vineyard character. His Les Perrières comes from a 0.61-hectare holding, making it a small-production expression within the domaine’s Premier Cru range. The estate describes an élevage of one year in barrel, with 20% new oak, followed by six months in stainless steel, allowing texture to develop while preserving clarity and freshness.
The 2023 offers green apple, lemon zest, white peach, acacia blossom and delicate spice, with smoky mineral notes and subtle hazelnut complexity. Its palate combines a rounded, satiny texture with citrus acidity and a compact, stony finish. Allen Meadows of Burghound awarded it 91–93 Points in his early assessment, highlighting its concentration, attractive texture and finely chiselled structure. Jasper Morris MW subsequently awarded 92+ Points in October 2025, noting white-fruit purity, a steelier mineral character and a long finish. These assessments capture the wine’s appealing combination of fruit depth and definition: a Puligny with substance, freshness and a clear mineral thread.
