The 2023 Amélie Guillot Trousseau En Tartot is a characterful red from Arbois in France’s Jura region, made entirely from Trousseau. The fruit comes from a parcel in Molamboz planted in 2001, with the wine showing red cherry and blackberry alongside wild herbs, pepper, subtle florals and earthy notes.
On the palate, it is fresh and energetic with juicy red and dark fruit, bright acidity and fine, supple tannins. The domaine gives En Tartot around 15 days of maceration before maturation in stainless steel, preserving the freshness and aromatic character of the Trousseau rather than adding oak influence. The 2023 sits at around 12% alcohol.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Jura drinkers who enjoy fragrant, lighter reds with lively acidity, savoury complexity and gentle tannins. Best served at cellar temperature or lightly chilled. Ideal with charcuterie, roast chicken, pork, mushroom dishes, duck or semi-hard cheeses.
