2022 La Linea Mencía Red - Vintage 2022 was relatively mild: a dry, warm autumn ensured that the healthy crops seen across all varieties developed great flavour and colour. Our Mencia was no exception, and was picked on 11th April at 12.7 baumé.
A beautiful yet fun red wine. It does justice to the variety, an almost pinot noir-like sleekness and svelteness to the wine with bright blood orange acidity, Italianate herb-laced tannins and a pleasingly smudged, spice mix finish. Plenty to sink one's teeth into while being quite lively on its feet. Super drink. - 94 points, Mike Bennie
