The 2022 Giovanni Rosso Ester Canale is a distinctive Langhe DOC Nebbiolo from Serralunga d’Alba in Piedmont, sourced from vines in the celebrated Vigna Rionda site. The nose shows Morello cherry, raspberry and blackberry with wild rose, mint, sweet spice and subtle cedar notes.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with fresh acidity and polished, fine-grained tannins. Ripe red fruit is layered with cinnamon, star anise and savoury mineral notes, while around 12 months in large French oak barrels adds gentle complexity without masking the Nebbiolo character.
