The 2022 Domaine Dureuil-Janthial Rully Maizières Blanc is a refined Chardonnay from an east-facing, warm lieu-dit in the heart of Rully. Produced from organically farmed vines planted between 1997 and 2001, it offers beautifully defined aromas of white peach, candied lemon and fresh pineapple, complemented by linden blossom, acacia and delicate almond notes.
On the palate, it is supple and rounded yet impressively precise, with ripe orchard fruit and citrus supported by bright acidity and firm mineral tension. Subtle notes of lemon verbena, wet stone and gentle oak lead into a long, saline and slightly bitter-edged finish, giving the wine greater energy and structure than a typical village-level Rully.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is an outstanding choice for those seeking serious white Burgundy with Puligny-like precision at the Rully level. Serve at approximately 12°C and allow 20–30 minutes in a decanter if enjoyed young. Drink now for its vibrant fruit and tension or cellar through approximately 2038. Ideal with citrus-dressed white fish, scallops, roast chicken, trout meunière, creamy mushroom dishes or soft-rind cow’s milk cheese.
