The 2022 Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay “En Barbi” is a distinctive single-vineyard, 100% Chardonnay from a south-facing parcel in the Jura. Its silty-clay soils over grey marl give the wine excellent tension and mineral character. The nose is precise and expressive, showing yellow apple, lemon, white peach and flint, with subtle smoky and savoury notes.
On the palate, it has impressive depth while remaining fresh and energetic, with bright acidity, creamy texture and a pronounced saline, stony finish. Vinous awarded the 2022 91 points, noting its clarity and focused character.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a superb Jura Chardonnay for lovers of mineral-driven white Burgundy-style wines. Pair with scallops, grilled fish, roast chicken, mushroom risotto or Comté. Enjoy now with some air or cellar through around 2030 for additional complexity.
