The 2022 Domaine Camille Thiriet Côte de Nuits-Villages Clos Magny is one of the standout wines from this exciting young Burgundy domaine. Sourced from a tiny 0.8-hectare parcel in Corgoloin at 350 metres elevation, the vineyard’s rocky soils, cool forest influence and tiny berries produce a wine of remarkable purity, finesse and intensity. The 2022 vintage was made with 100% whole bunches, adding extra perfume and structure.
The nose reveals red cherry, raspberry and rose petal with hints of spice and licorice. The palate is silky and beautifully detailed, combining vibrant red fruit, chalky minerality and fine tannins. Elegant yet concentrated, it offers impressive depth while retaining freshness and energy throughout the long finish. Critics awarded 91–91+ points, praising its delicacy, precision and ageing potential.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A serious Côte de Nuits-Villages that drinks well above its appellation. Elegant, fragrant and beautifully balanced, it’s perfect with duck, roast chicken, mushroom dishes or pork loin. Enjoy from now with a decant or cellar through 2038+ for added complexity.
