2022 Delta Pinot Noir

The 2022 Delta Pinot Noir is a beautifully crafted Marlborough Pinot Noir sourced from the iconic Delta Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley. Produced from carefully selected Pinot Noir clones and matured in French oak, this wine combines bright fruit purity with savoury complexity, showcasing a richer and more structured style while retaining the elegance expected from New Zealand Pinot Noir. Aromas of raspberry, dark cherry and blackberry are complemented by hints of bramble, spice and subtle toasted oak. 

On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a silky texture and finely integrated tannins. Flavours of ripe raspberry, black cherry and dark berry fruits are layered with notes of mushroom, savoury spice and gentle oak influence. The wine balances vibrant fruit with freshness and structure, while ten months of French oak maturation adds depth and complexity without overshadowing the vineyard character. The finish is long, smooth and persistent, with lingering dark fruit and toasty spice notes.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a fantastic Pinot Noir for customers who enjoy a slightly richer New Zealand style that still retains finesse and balance. Its combination of bright berry fruit, silky tannins and savoury complexity makes it an excellent match for roast duck, pork loin, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto and charcuterie. Drinking beautifully now, it will continue to develop additional complexity over the next 4–6 years.
