The 2022 Champagne Laherte Frères Grand Cru Bouzy is a refined Blanc de Noirs made entirely from Pinot Noir grown in two south-facing parcels in Bouzy, one of the great Grand Cru villages of the Montagne de Reims. The vines were planted in 1986 and 1988, giving the wine a combination of mature-vine concentration and the natural power of Bouzy. The chalky subsoil brings freshness and mineral tension beneath the ripe fruit, with aromas of red cherry, raspberry and citrus alongside subtle toast, spice and savoury notes. Hand-disgorged in December 2025 and finished with just 2 g/L dosage, it retains a dry, focused character.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied and beautifully textured, with vibrant acidity, fine mousse and a distinctly vinous structure. Red cherry and raspberry are complemented by orange citrus, subtle redcurrant, gentle toast and delicate spice, while the chalk-rich terroir provides a fine saline and mineral backbone. Fermentation in barrels, without malolactic fermentation, preserves the wine's natural freshness and tension, while ageing on fine lees adds breadth and a subtle creamy texture. The finish is dry, long and persistent, with lingering red fruit, citrus, chalk and savoury mineral notes.

At Wine More Cellars, this is an excellent choice for Champagne drinkers who enjoy structured Blanc de Noirs with Grand Cru depth, fine texture and pronounced mineral freshness. The 2022 vintage has the concentration and acidity to develop beautifully in bottle, with further brioche, nutty, savoury and earthy complexity expected as it matures. Best enjoyed from around 2028–2036, although it can be appreciated earlier with food. Serve chilled with gougères, roast quail, seared scallops, wild mushroom risotto, roast chicken with herbs, or veal with a light mushroom sauce.
