2022 Brokenwood Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz is a classic expression of Hunter Valley Shiraz, sourced from the historic Graveyard Vineyard in Pokolbin. First planted in the late 1960s, this vineyard has produced some of Australia’s most respected single-vineyard Shiraz, known for its balance, savoury complexity, and remarkable aging potential.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby colour with vibrant purple edges. The nose is layered and aromatic, revealing notes of black cherry, plum, and dark raspberry, followed by subtle hints of black pepper, dried herbs, and earthy spice.
On the palate, the wine is elegant and structured rather than heavy, a hallmark of great Hunter Valley Shiraz. Flavours of dark berries and ripe plum are supported by savoury notes of olive, spice, and gentle oak, while fine tannins and fresh acidity provide balance and length.
