The 2022 BenMarco Sin Límites Gualtallary is a high-altitude Malbec from Gualtallary in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, grown around 1,300 metres above sea level. The nose shows graphite, rose and dark fruit with pepper, dried herbs and savoury spice. Sandy alluvial soils over limestone contribute to the wine’s distinctive mineral character and firm structure.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured with fresh acidity, concentrated dark fruit and mature, finely grained tannins. The wine spends 25 days on skins before 12 months in second- and third-use French oak, allowing the fruit and chalky mineral character to remain prominent. The finish is long, savoury and well defined.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Malbec drinkers who enjoy structured Argentine reds with fine tannins, savoury complexity and a mineral edge. It has around 10 years of cellaring potential and pairs well with roast lamb, grilled steak, slow-cooked beef or soft to semi-hard cheeses.
