The 2021 Geoff Weaver Riesling is a single-vineyard, cool-climate white from Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills, where Geoff Weaver first planted Riesling in 1982. The nose is fresh and lifted with lime blossom and delicate floral notes, backed by citrus zest and a fine mineral character.
On the palate, it is tightly structured yet supple, with juicy citrus fruit, crisp acidity and a precise mineral edge. Fermentation in seasoned barrels followed by seven months on yeast lees adds gentle texture, while a small amount of residual sugar balances the naturally high acidity. The finish is fine, fresh and persistent.
Ben’s Recommendation:
At Wine More Cellars, this is a great choice for Riesling drinkers who enjoy refined, high-acid Adelaide Hills whites with excellent ageing potential. Enjoy now for its freshness or continue cellaring as it develops more honeyed complexity. Pair with oysters, grilled whiting, prawns, sashimi or other delicately flavoured seafood.
