2021 Weaver Riesling

The 2021 Weaver Riesling is a beautifully refined cool-climate Riesling from one of the Adelaide Hills’ pioneering vineyards. Produced by Geoff Weaver from his historic Lenswood estate, first planted in 1982, this wine reflects more than four decades of dedication to crafting elegant, age-worthy Riesling. The outstanding 2021 vintage, shaped by a long, cool growing season, delivered exceptional natural acidity, remarkable fruit purity and outstanding balance, producing a Riesling that is both immediately captivating and built for graceful long-term evolution.

The nose is bright and beautifully lifted, revealing aromas of lime zest, lemon blossom and green apple layered with white flowers, jasmine and delicate citrus perfume. As the wine opens, subtle notes of grapefruit pith, wet stone and crushed talc emerge, complemented by hints of kaffir lime leaf and fresh herbs. The aromatic profile is remarkably pure and focused, showcasing the cool-climate precision that defines the Lenswood vineyard.

On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied with vibrant natural acidity and exceptional precision. Layers of lime, lemon, green apple and crisp orchard fruits unfold across the palate, supported by a fine chalky mineral backbone. The wine is bone dry, with laser-like acidity providing tremendous energy and freshness while maintaining perfect balance. The finish is long, clean and mouthwatering, carrying lingering notes of lime peel, grapefruit, crushed stone and delicate floral lift. The style is elegant, linear and beautifully restrained, reflecting the classical Adelaide Hills expression of Riesling.
