The 2021 Peter Jakob Kühn Riesling Trocken GG Doosberg is a biodynamic Grosses Gewächs Riesling from the prestigious Doosberg vineyard in the Rheingau, Germany. Produced by one of Germany’s most acclaimed estates, the wine comes from a site characterised by deep loess and quartzite-rich soils that impart both power and mineral precision. Fermented naturally and aged extensively on lees in large oak casks, it is a Riesling of remarkable depth, structure and longevity.
The nose reveals grapefruit, lemon zest and white stone fruit layered with flint, herbs, blossom and subtle smoky notes. The palate is concentrated yet beautifully refined, with vibrant citrus fruit, crystalline acidity and a powerful mineral backbone. Notes of crushed herbs, saline complexity and chalky minerality emerge through a long, focused finish that combines intensity with exceptional finesse.

A world-class dry Riesling that showcases the power and precision of the Doosberg vineyard. Its depth and mineral drive make it a superb match for lobster, scallops, grilled fish, pork dishes, Asian cuisine and aged alpine cheeses. While impressive now with decanting, this is a wine built for the cellar and will continue to evolve beautifully through 2040+ as additional complexity and texture emerge.
