The 2021 Domaine de Montille Bourgogne Pinot Noir is a beautifully classical expression of red Burgundy from one of the Côte de Beaune’s most respected domaines. The challenging, cool 2021 season was marked by severe April frost and a cool, relatively wet summer, reducing yields across the domaine by around 60%. Pinot Noir was less severely affected than Chardonnay, however, and Domaine de Montille describes the resulting reds as particularly fresh, pure and approachable, with airy textures far removed from the richer character of the preceding warmer vintages. The domaine’s long-standing organic and biodynamic philosophy further emphasises purity of fruit and terroir expression.
