The 2021 Derey Gevrey-Chambertin is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Craite-Paille climat in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. The nose shows ripe strawberry, raspberry and cherry with subtle earthy and toasted notes. Clay-limestone soils combine well-drained stony sections with deeper soils that contribute additional structure and richness.
On the palate, it is supple and finely balanced, with fresh red and dark fruit, lively acidity and understated tannins. The cooler 2021 Burgundy vintage gives the wine a fresher, more delicate profile, while its rounded texture and good length make it approachable in its youth.
