The 2020 Saint Clair Pioneer Block 15 “Strip Block” Pinot Noir is a premium single-vineyard Marlborough red, crafted from a carefully selected parcel in the Southern Valleys and showcasing depth, elegance and site expression. Part of the Pioneer Block range, it highlights the unique terroir of this clay-rich vineyard. The nose is complex and aromatic, with notes of black cherry, blackberry and ripe red fruits, layered with hints of floral lift, spice, coffee and subtle toasted oak.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a silky, rounded texture and fine-grained tannins. Concentrated dark and red fruit flavours are complemented by savoury nuances, spice and gentle oak, leading to a long, smooth and persistent finish. The style is rich yet refined, balancing power with finesse and offering good ageing potential.

At Wine More Cellars, this is a step-up Marlborough Pinot Noir with more structure and complexity than entry-level styles. It’s approachable now with decanting but will reward cellaring over the next 5–8 years. Perfect with duck, lamb, roasted meats or mushroom dishes.
