The 2019 Le Jardin de Queyron Pindefleurs is a beautifully mature Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from a small family-owned estate situated on the prized clay and limestone soils of Saint-Émilion. The excellent 2019 vintage produced wines of outstanding concentration, balance and ageing potential across Bordeaux, and Pindefleurs is a superb example of the appellation’s modern style, combining generous Merlot fruit with elegance and freshness.
The nose reveals black cherry, plum and blackberry alongside notes of violet, cedar and sweet spice. The palate is rich and velvety, with layers of ripe dark fruit supported by polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Hints of cocoa, graphite and earthy savoury complexity add depth, while the finish is long, smooth and beautifully balanced. Now entering an excellent drinking window, the wine offers both youthful fruit intensity and the beginnings of classic Saint-Émilion maturity.
Ben’s Recommendation:
A polished and approachable Right Bank Bordeaux that offers excellent value and broad appeal. Rich, supple and highly food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck, mushroom dishes and mature cheeses. Enjoy with a short decant if drinking now, or cellar through 2038–2042 as it develops greater savoury complexity and tertiary character.
