The 2019 Château Poujeaux is a superb Cru Bourgeois from Moulis-en-Médoc, one of the most respected appellations on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Owned by the Cuvelier family and situated on the prized gravelly soils of Grand Poujeaux, the estate consistently delivers wines that rival far more expensive classified growths. The excellent 2019 vintage has produced a wine of outstanding concentration, freshness and balance, showcasing the classic Cabernet Sauvignon-driven character of the Médoc.
The nose reveals blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry aromas layered with cedar, graphite, liquorice and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with vibrant dark fruit supported by polished tannins and fresh acidity. Notes of cocoa, tobacco and crushed stone add complexity, while the finish is long, structured and beautifully balanced, combining power with elegance. The 2019 vintage is widely regarded as one of the estate’s finest in recent years.
