The 2018 Moccagatta Barbaresco Bric Balin is a powerful and refined single-vineyard Nebbiolo from Barbaresco in Piedmont, Italy. Sourced from the historic Bric Balin vineyard, situated at elevations of around 250–300 metres on calcareous marl soils, the wine reflects both the structure and elegance for which Moccagatta is renowned. Carefully matured in French oak, it combines the classic character of Barbaresco with impressive depth and ageing potential.
The nose reveals aromas of dark cherry, plum and wild berries layered with rose petal, mint, cinnamon, liquorice and subtle oak spice. The palate is rich and concentrated, with beautifully textured fruit supported by firm yet polished tannins. Notes of tar, dried herbs and savoury spice add complexity, while a long, structured finish highlights the wine’s balance, power and finesse.

A serious and expressive Barbaresco that showcases the depth and elegance of Nebbiolo. Perfect alongside braised beef, osso buco, truffle dishes, game meats and aged hard cheeses. Decant for at least an hour before serving and enjoy now or cellar through 2035 as it develops further complexity and savoury character.
